Phoenix Rocks

Phoenix is an 11 year old guitarist from London. His musical journey began in 2020, age 7, when he picked up a £5 guitar from a local charity shop. During the lockdown, Phoenix started guitar lessons just before his 8th Birthday. Over the past 3 years he has built up his guitar skills and has played in front of live audiences at some of London’s top venues, including the iconic Half Moon Putney, as well as The Grosvenor Hotel, The O2 Islington with Guns2Roses, and Ciro’s Pizza Pomodoro Knightsbridge, Care Homes and local open mics (age permitting as he’s so young!).
In October 2022, at just 9 years of age, he received a standing ovation when he played in front of A list footballers at The Legends of Football fundraiser at The Grosvenor Hotel London.
Phoenix has largely learned to play guitar by ear with the help of guitar lessons online (during lockdown) initially for the first couple of years. He has succeeded at his current level of playing without any formal grading or exams. He has a very sharp musical ear and politely refuses when guitar store’s ask if he needs a tuner when trying out new gear.
In June 2024, Phoenix literally shot to TikTok fame when his reel of him playing Sweet Child o Mine at a wedding hit over 2.5 million views, with over a quarter of a million likes, 25k saves, including thousands of supportive comments and a surprise call from Britain’s Got Talent casting agent where he was shortlisted for an audition before the celebrity judges. Although, he didn’t get through, this has not stopped him from continuing to impress with his astonishing talent and gift for shredding guitar.
In July 2024, world famous Marshall Amplifiers invited Phoenix for a special VIP tour and visit to their HQ in Milton Keynes. Artist relations manager Joel Manan took Phoenix on a VIP guided tour of the Marshall factory where he got to see his favourite amps being hand made. He was very privileged to a special ‘artist only entry’ to the Marshall Studios, where he got to crank up all the nobs to 11, on his favourite JCM800 and Silver Jubilee.
Marshall Amplifications endorse Phoenix as their youngest ever artist, which was totally unexpected and gave him a massive boost, and he was totally overwhelmed that his favourite amp company would choose to then send him his favourite Silver Jubilee head and cab. He had only ever dreamed of owning a Marshall stack, and that was all made possible when Joel Manan rang to tell Phoenix the news, and that he could choose any amp to be specially made for him.
He one day dreams of following in the footsteps of his biggest musical guitar influences with the likes of Slash of Guns n Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Myles Kennedy of Alterbridge, and Eddie Van Halen. He says “I really want to shred my guitar on the world’s biggest stages including the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium and Tokyo Dome” … “I can’t see myself doing anything else when I grow up, all I want to do is to be a famous guitarist and make people happy when I play on stage”.
Phoenix who is 11 and only a month away from turning 12, says he’s raring to get a band together to tour with as his next move, because he says you’re never too young to rock n roll. He is home educated and spends his day teaching himself new riffs and songs, and has been recording his own songs through Amplitube via Focusrite interface on his MacBook. He can’t ever put down his guitar, it’s literally a part of his being, an extension of himself.
October 2024, at The International Guitar Show in London, Phoenix discovered his favourite guitar picks when he came across Dan’s Guitar Store and was handed a pack of Dan’s magical picks which grip with the same level of intensity as Phoenix’s guitar shredding. The surprise news came when Dan offered Phoenix to be its youngest endorsee! He just couldn’t give up the opportunity to be part of the world’s best guitar picks, ones which magically never go missing?!!!
2025 is set to be a big year for Phoenix who continues to rise!
