Spencer Askin is a touring and recording guitarist, singer, songwriter and educator from Southern California. He has toured with celebrated musical artists such as Concord Record’s Zella Day, Persian pop music legend Ebi Hamedi, American Salvage (featuring Grammy Award winning founding members of the band Train) as well as fronting his own projects The Gromble and SEGA Genecide. He has shared the stage with members of 5 Seconds of Summer, Yellowcard, We the Kings, Thursday, Sugar Ray, American Idol, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Walk the Moon, and countless others. He also runs a guitar-focused social media page called Shreducation on IG, TikTok and Youtube.
As Program Director of a boutique private “Rock School” for over a decade, he has helped hundreds of students achieve their playing goals with a practical approach that has more to do with real world application focused on making music rather than running exercises.
He is most partial to the Pink Precision picks, although he loves all three styles and finds applications for each.”I have been playing the guitar for 21 years now, since I was 12 years old, and I have never experienced a product that made me sound like a better player as immediately as these Precision Picks. No joke. Any one of my friends that I let try them says the same thing” Spencer just released a new album Gap Years with his band The Gromble and is regularly gigging in support of that, as well as working on new music and continuing to grow the Shreducation channel and Patreon.
